Northern India: Culture, Spirit, and Nature

Experience the culture, spirit, and nature of Northern India. We will meet with tribal and community leaders who are preserving cultural wisdom and maintaining sustainable communities. It’s all part of an overall experience of the Indian culture of tribal life, yoga, meditation, ashrams, pranic classes, Ayurvedic consultation, wildlife viewing and natural walks. We will explore history, nature, healing, and the Gujjar Tribals, and travel along the Holy Ganga River to the home of His Holiness Dalai Lama. This tour is tailored for providing new perspectives to professionals leading change and coaching executives seeking inspiration.

PRICE PER PERSON:
  • For 2-4 Travelers: Double Occupancy $3,300 / Single Occupancy $3,950
  • For 5+ Travelers: Double Occupancy $2,900 / Single Occupancy $3,700
Includes:

– All transportation (train, flight or car as indicated below), lodging, meals, and activities as shown below.
– Guide services, entry fee to National park & jungle safari & guided trekking.

Does not include:

International air fare, tips, immunizations, visas, travel insurance, alcohol, laundry, personal purchases and items not mentioned in the itinerary.

50% deposit is due at the time of booking, with the balance due 6 weeks before departure.

5% of the trip cost will be donated to charities serving the communities we will be visiting.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Delhi

Hotel in Delhi

Arrive on international flight to Delhi.
Day 2: Delhi to Haridwar

Hotel or Ashram

Transfer by train or car from Delhi to Haridwar, participate in an evening aarti at a temple.
Day 3: Haridwar

Hotel or Ashram

Early morning Yoga. After breakfast, Haridwar sight seeing, Mansa Devi Temple, Ashram and the ghats around Harki Pauri.
Day 4: Rajaji Park Safari

Lodge in the village

Rajaji Park Safari & Gujjar Tribal Village, full day from early morning to night.
Day 5: Rajaji Park

Lodge in the village

Early morning nature walk in Rajaji Park, then after lunch visiting another Gujjar Village.
Day 6: Rishikesh

Hotel or Ashram

Morning transfer to Rishikesh, visiting temples & ashrams in Rishikesh, Ayurevedic Massage. Later in the evening, experience a ceremony on the Ganga River.
Day 7: Rishikesh

Hotel or Ashram

Continue to explore Rishikesh temples & ashrams along the Ganga River.
Day 8: Rishikesh to Mc Leod Ganj

Train

Morning yoga meditation, and then a waterfall trek. After lunch, transfer to railway station for a night train to Mc Leod Ganj.
Day 9: Mc Leod Ganj

Hotel

Arrive in Mc Leod Ganj / Dharamshala in the early morning by taxi from Pathankot station. Check in to the hotel, enjoy a free morning. In the afternoon, visit Dalai Lama’s temple, Tibetan museum and the streets of Mac Leod Ganj. Walk to Baghsu waterfall, and short sight seeing.
Day 10: Mc Leod Ganj

Hotel

Morning walk to Bagshu and visit the Shivani ayurvedic clinic. Afternoon with Ardesh (Asho School) or 4 hours class – prayanama, chakra meditation.
Day 11: Mc Leod Ganj

Hotel

Further explore or relax in McLeod Ganj.
Day 12: Mc Leod Ganj to Delhi

Train

Day free for shopping and optional ayurvedic consultations or treatment with Shivani (extra cost). In the late afternoon, drive to Pathankot station for night train to Delhi.
Day 13: Delhi

Hotel or transfer to airport for flight home

Arrive in Delhi, Hotel check in and sightseeing – Lotus Temple, State Emporiums.
